Intending to provide convenience, the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, stated that it was designed to facilitate online passport applications and streamline the entire process, eliminating the need for in-person interactions.

Here is a step-by-step process for applying for your passport remotely from the comfort of your home or workplace outside Nigeria:

• Visit the official website: passport.immigration.gov.ng, and select “Apply from outside Nigeria."

• Login by simply signing in to your Google account.

• Click ‘Create a new application’ and fill in the details by selecting your processing country and embassy, contact information, and next of kin.

The passport booklet fee will be automatically generated in USD. The amount depends on the number of pages of the passport booklet type selected.

• Make an online payment.

You will be notified when your passport will be ready for collection.
